ACADEMIC DEPARTMENTS

CROPS/SOIL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

The Crops/Soil Science Department is a vital component of our academic institution, dedicated to providing innovative and comprehensive programs in crop and soil science. Our department offers a range of courses that provide students with a solid foundation in crop and soil science, including soil fertility and management, plant physiology and ecology, crop production, and crop protection.

Our department members are experts in their fields, with extensive experience in crop and soil science research, teaching, and extension. They are committed to providing students with hands-on experiences that allow them to apply theoretical concepts to real-world problems.

We also conduct research projects aimed at addressing the challenges facing the agricultural industry, including soil health and management, crop breeding and genetics, crop protection, and sustainable agriculture practices. Our research findings are disseminated through publications, conferences, and outreach programs to benefit farmers, industry stakeholders, and policy makers.

ANIMAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

The Animal Science Department is committed to providing innovative academic programs in animal science, animal production, and animal management. Our interdisciplinary approach to animal science combines principles of biology, physiology, nutrition, and behavior to give students a comprehensive understanding of animal production and management.

Our curriculum is designed to give students a strong foundation in animal biology and physiology while also exposing them to the latest advancements in animal science. We offer courses in animal nutrition, genetics and breeding, animal behavior and welfare, and animal production systems to provide a solid foundation in the principles of animal science.

AGRIBUSINESS, ECONOMICS & EXTENSION DEPARTMENT

The Agribusiness, Economics & Extension Department is a dynamic academic department that provides innovative programs in the areas of agribusiness, economics, and agricultural extension. Our department offers a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to agriculture, combining principles of business, economics, and social sciences to help students understand the complexities of the agribusiness sector.

Our curriculum is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the modern agricultural landscape, where economic forces and market trends are constantly evolving. We offer a range of courses that cover topics such as farm management, agricultural marketing, agricultural finance, and agricultural policy, providing students with a solid foundation in the principles of agribusiness.

AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Train middle level agricultural extension staff with strong background in engineering capable of contributing to solving the nation’s numerous agricultural challenges. This will be accomplished through instruction, supported by applied research and service to private and public organizations using state of the art technology. The Department is committed to being a local, national and international leader in the training of students for viable careers in Agricultural and environmental engineering

HOME SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

The home science department is a dedicated academic department that focuses on teaching and researching various aspects of home and family life. This department typically offers a range of courses and programs that cover topics such as nutrition, food science, textiles and clothing, child development, family studies, and home management.

NON-TRADITIONAL DEPARTMENT

The Non-Traditional department offers innovative and interdisciplinary programs that address emerging areas of study. Unlike traditional departments that focus on specific disciplines, non-traditional departments take a more flexible and adaptive approach to education, blending multiple disciplines to provide students with a comprehensive and holistic learning experience.

The department typically offer courses that explore cutting-edge fields such as digital media, sustainability, social entrepreneurship, and more.
